(Coercive Acts)

The first of the Coercive Acts. The Boston Port Act authorized the Royal Navy blockade.This effectively closed Boston port to commerical traffic. It also forbids and exports to foreign ports or provinces. The only imports allowed are for the British army and necessary goods. 

The second was the Massechusetts Government Act. This act gives the royal governor the ability to choose judges and county sheriffs without council approval. The sheriff can appoint there own jurors, harming the colonys judicial system. It restricted town meetings to once a year, with any additional meetings require the governor approval. 

The third one was The Act for the Impartial Administration of Justice. This law seeks to further increase the power of the governor by giving him the ability to move a trial to another colony or Great Britian. This act eliminates the right to a fair trial by ones peers. 

The fourth and final act was the Quartering Act, this act was the only one that applied to all colonies. It allowed high ranking military officials to demand better accommodations for troops and to refuse incoveniant loacations. For them to be quartered at the colonist expense.
