Paintings Depicting Military Battles

Bunker's Hill was fought during the first stage of The American Revolution. It's an historical event because the colonists proved they can withstand against the British. The painting depicts a bloody battle with the colonists trying to hold back against the British. The Battle of Bunker's Hill was a losing battle against the British. In a sense it was a major turning point in the War for Independence. The painting even shows you the effects of what's to come after the battle. There is no more reconciliation between the American Colonies and Britain. 

The Battle of Trenton was a small battle in The Revolutionary War. During the battle Britain hired German mercenaries to help them out. The American Colonists weren't the only ones with outside help. The painting depicts the Continental army capturing Hessians as Prisoners of War. Either way the painting captivates the viewer in showing the Continental Army as a powerful force. When looking at the painting you can see that the Continental Army is a force not to be messed with in part by the artist. 

In the Battle of Princeton the Continental Army won against the British. It was a big turning point for the Continental Army which boosted their morale. It showed the Continental could win an engagement against the British army. In the painting it shows Geaorge Washington standing tall because he had just won a battle against one of the strongest militaries in the world. The victory at Princeton showed the cause of rebellion was something worth fighting for.
